Plain-language summary: We collect the minimum information needed to run LivQuiz and to help you study better. We don't sell your data. We follow COPPA and FERPA protections for students. You can access, correct, export, or delete your data at any time.

- We don't ask for personal information unless we truly need it.
- We don't keep your personal information longer than is necessary.
- We don't share your personal data except to comply with the law, provide our services, or protect our rights.
- We don't rent, sell, or exchange your personal information.
- We aim to make it simple for you to control what's visible to others.
Information we collect
Information you provide
When you create an account or use the service, you may provide: email address, name, organization or school, profile photo, exam goals, study content (notes, quizzes, flashcards, past papers), and — for paid plans — billing information processed by our payment provider.
Information collected automatically
As you use LivQuiz we automatically collect device and usage information: device model, operating system, browser type, preferred language, time zone, IP address, referring site, and aggregated interactions with the service.
Location
We may use your IP address to approximate your country/region for currency display and content localization. We do not collect precise location (GPS) data.
How we use your information
- Provide and maintain the LivQuiz service — including generating study plans, calculating readiness scores, and rendering content.
- Personalize your experience based on grade level, exam, language, and study history.
- Communicate with you about your account, product updates, support requests, and (where you've opted in) marketing.
- Help teachers and creators identify students who need support.
- Analyze engagement to improve features and prioritize the roadmap.
- Detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, and security issues.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only in these limited cases:
- Service providers — vendors who process data on our behalf (hosting, analytics, payments, email delivery) under contractual confidentiality and security obligations.
- Teachers and classroom administrators — if you join a classroom, your teacher can see your progress in that classroom.
- Public content — if you publish content publicly or list it on the marketplace, that content is visible to other users.
- Legal requirements — when required by law, court order, or to protect rights, property, or safety.
- Business transfers — if LivQuiz is involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, data may be transferred subject to this policy.
Children & students
LivQuiz complies with COPPA (US), GDPR (EU), and FERPA (US schools). Users under 13 may only access LivQuiz with verifiable parent or guardian consent, or through a school acting on behalf of parents. For these users we limit data collection, do not target advertising, and do not facilitate direct messaging between students.
Parental rights
Parents and legal guardians of children under the age of consent can review the personal information we have collected, request that we delete it, refuse further collection, and manage the account. privacy@livquiz.com.
Data security
- Encryption of all data in transit (TLS) and at rest.
- Access-controlled data centers and encrypted user password storage.
- Regular security audits and timely patching of vulnerabilities.
- Internal access controls limiting employee access on a need-to-know basis.
Data retention
We retain your information for as long as your account is active. Inactive accounts (12+ months) may be deleted after notice. On account deletion, your personally identifiable information is purged from our active systems within 30 days; backups containing your data are purged within 90 days.
Your rights
- Access — get a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct — fix any inaccurate or incomplete information.
- Delete — request that we erase your personal data, subject to legal exceptions.
- Export — receive your data in a portable, machine-readable format.
- Object — opt out of certain processing, including marketing communications.
- Withdraw consent — where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time.

Cookies and similar technologies
LivQuiz uses cookies to keep you logged in, remember your preferences, and analyze platform usage. You can disable cookies in your browser settings; some parts of the service may not function correctly without them.
International data transfers
LivQuiz is operated from Canada with infrastructure in multiple regions. Your data may be processed in Canada, the United States, and the European Union. When we transfer data internationally, we use lawful transfer mechanisms (such as Standard Contractual Clauses).
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes are communicated by email or in-app message; the "Last updated" date is bumped accordingly.
